Rustic Romance: Bridal Hair Trends for 2013 with guest blogger Elle-Brides

We have invited hair designer Maha Mokaddem of Elle-Brides as our guest blogger today.  Maha brings us a look at the new trends for bridal hair in 2013 in a two-part blog post, here’s the first one. 

Whether newly engaged or planning a wedding, you may be wondering what 2013 trends in wedding hairstyles have been favored. Every year, stylists around the country take a look at trends in the current year and forecast what the following year may look like. As we indulge in personalizing a bride’s vision this year we can say a few trends are happening with certainty. Lets take a look at what wedding hairstyles are in store for us this wedding season 2013.

Rustic Romance is our top theme for wedding hair this year. Curls, Curls, and more soft flowing curls are taking lead this year. While curls are beautiful, they have a new form. Possibly inspired by The Hunger Games trilogy, loosely pinned curls form romantic yet rustic impression of elegance meets nature.

Look closely and you will notice these curls are coming together to form an abstract sideline braid. We see this again in Marchesa’s 2013 Bridal collection. The beauty about Marchesa’s look is the ability to quickly transform it into a romantic bun that gathers much like a flower would. You can actually enhance this look by using pearls to shape the stems. Stylists can be available during weddings to retouch and make these changes.

Finally, gather your floral combinations this year and have your stylist integrate it into your look. Flowers add color and definition to the style of the hair. It can also take a simple sleek design and add just the right finishing touch. Some prefer a daring wreath as seen this week in the Washington Post.
