Last Fall, I approached Voila Events to collaborate on a shoot I was planning. I love the theme of mixing the old with the new, and I was beyond obsessed and inspired about the print on the bow tie I had seen on Etsy — a modern plaid in shades of orange and blue. We reached out to an amazing group of wedding vendors. The idea was to provide within a winery setting an inspiration for engaged couples that went beyond the rustic, that included fun details and modern touches within a vibrant palette.
The palette of royal blue, deep oranges and shiny reds, was beautiful in a setting that is rustic and organic. It’s a unique way to decorate for a winter wedding and move away from traditional palettes of light blues and whites.
One of the details of this wedding that I adore and think it’s so amazingly unique is the stationery design, and along with it the opportunity to incorporate technology in the wedding. Yes, we have grown used to the #hashtags and the opportunity to instagram our weddings, but do you know you can use technology within other areas of the wedding. Social Tables was inspiring in producing a table seating chart that allows you to see the flow of the reception room, what a great concept. With the program, you can see the layout of the room and each table and guest.
We were also able to include a menu card with the choices of desserts in the dessert bar created by Sweet Pearlz Cheesecakes on a tablet, that way guests can see the menu options available. Can you imagine downloading the menu unto your wedding website, or if you are including a family dessert you love or recipe including that as well. Fabulous!
The tablescape included a floral garland made of tulips and citrus fruit with oranges, tangerines and kumquats. We love the details in the suede buckle napkin rings and the tile menus designed by Simply Designed, with a runner of that beautiful print.
Stoney Tower Winery has the perfect setting for this shoot, and I love their tasting room and all the beautiful amenities it offers couples planning a wedding. The bride’s hair and makeup was done by the incredible Carolyn Thombs of Carolyn Thombs Makeup Artistry and Consulting, with the most beautiful and vivid colors.
