We hosted our first DIY workshop, Summer Fun with Mason Jars, in late July at Cervantes Coffee, remember that amazing space we used for the coffee styled shoot, we love it, and it’s such a wonderful and comfortable space for gatherings, we teamed up with them to do our workshop.
Mason jars are just the most perfect addition to summer weddings, especially rustic barn weddings, great for DIY brides, and whimsical and delicate decor for bridal showers, birthday parties, and super sweet gifts for loved ones and friends — just pick a few blooms from the garden and decorate in the mason jars, perfect gift!
Our EightTreeStreet floral experience was designed to offer participants a fun hand-on experience in three parts – creating, designing and paying it forward. First, we worked together on designing gorgeous centerpieces using some of our favorite blooms, we included some seasonal summer flowers including bright colors of zinnias, sunflowers, and delphinium as well as sweet matricaria, and other cute filler flowers, and we were happy to have some at hand.
Then, put our beauties to work by creating adorable tablescapes and a dessert table with a rustic urban flair. Afterwards, we all enjoyed some fabulous networking time while sipping Cervantes’ delish coffee and enjoying the most amazing treats provided by Sweet Pearlz Cheesecakes.
The third component, and the most rewarding part of the workshop, was creating something with our participants to pay it forward. We teamed up with Repeat Roses, extra florals we made during the workshop were donated with them and Sylvia, the wonderful blogger behind VA-Gir,l who took all the gorgeous flowers to Calvary Women’s Services. Thanks so much to everyone who came out to the worskhop, and a huge thanks to Cervantes Coffee for hosting it. Additional promotional support was provided by Sweet Pearlz Cheesecakes, they provided a delicious assortment of mini cheesecakes, and to Boda Maestra and Paper Blossom Socials. The Knot provided copies of their new magazine for the fall, that were gifted to our participants in addition to cute burlap swag bags.
